It is hard to believe that 2010 is here already! In many ways, I find 2009 seemed to fly by. And yet, here it is. It’s that time of year again. A time for looking forward (I never really like to look backward) and setting our plans for the new year. I am reading a book right now that talks about how our lives really are organized in stories and so instead of setting goals for the new year, I am working on what the story of my life will be for 2010.

For some of you, it may be that your story for 2010 is finishing school and that first job as a medical transcriptionist. For others, it will be taking and passing the RMT or the CMT exams. Your story may include finding a new job, or continuing where you are and loving the one you have.

The question was posed on a blog I follow this weekend about what our goals were for the year. I share mine here with you so you can see the “story” I intend to write this year. They are:

1. A recent post on reading the Bible through in a year has inspired me to do that this year. I’ve never actually done that and 2010 will be the year I actually get that accomplished.
2. Completing the immigration process for my husband so we are secure here in the US and he can work. Paperwork will be filed on Monday and it is my HOPE this will be done by June, although that relies on the government folks.
3. Write at least three posts per week in my personal blog, where I share about living life with integrity and some general life musings. I am actually doing editorial calendars for both sites I am running now to keep me on track.
4. Take the new site I am creating for medical transcriptionists live by January 10 and be sure there is valuable information and postings there at least three times per week.
5. Read at least one book every week and share what I read and learn through my blogs and posts.

So there you have it, my new story for 2010. I am working on the editorial calendar for this site now and it is really exciting me to think of the possibilities we have to create something great. I do look forward to it.

What about you? What is the story you will write this year? Please add yours to the comments by clicking on the box above.
