I recently took my RMT and did not pass. It was close though, so I am going to take it again in 6 months. When I was preparing I took the prep course offered by AHDI, and also lived and breathed the RMT Review guide. The 2 offered similar approaches, yet different material. I would like to see the new course either build on what is already offered by other avenues, or be completely different and not just have the multiple choice and short dictations. A more classroom setting of anatomy and disease process would be excellent with some serious grammar refreshers. Just a thought from someone who just spent 2 months studying.

Again, depending on the cost, I would be interested in an online-type course for CMT. I have already purchased a CMT study guide (the AAMT CMT Review Guide) and paid a good chunk of change for it, but I think I do better when I have more of a time limitation. Then, of course, besides the cost of this COURSE will be the cost of the exam itself, and that's not too cheap either! I guess the good thing is it will all happen AFTER the taxes are done (and we hopefully will get a decent refund).

What I am going to do is combine the two into one review course, with some guidance for the RMT folks about which parts they really don't have to focus on. That should make it work for everyone and allow us to also learn from each other. And thanks for the kind comments!

Kathy, looks good to me. I want to get credentialled. I do have a question for you though. I am presently working for a company doing only clinical work. I have had 2 years working with acute care prior to this. So, which exam should I study for? RMT/CMT.

Thanks for all the work you are putting into all of this.

Shirley, I think our response is okay. Sure, I wish we had more, but our list is growing every day and that is exciting. With the course, it won't take up time on this forum. The majority of folks said they would prefer an email course, so it would be delivered only to the group who signs up and through email, with a separate place for discussion. I've done a few courses this way and like them as it lets me do them on my own time and schedule. Thanks for the comment!

I'm surprised at the lack of response to the survey, as well. I'm a fairly new member of this forum, but had I been a member when the survey was done, I would have definitely responded. I think a webinar course would be better than an email course. Twelve weeks is a good length of time, if not longer, only because of the content to be studied. This goes for both the RMT and CMT. I'm not credentialed yet, but plan on going for the RMT, then the CMT.

I am disappointed that only 18% responded; I, fortunately, have a local community college that offers a CMT prep course; one is offered through AHDI as well, so I do not know if time could be better spent in other ways in this forum, especially with so few respondents. Personally, I have my RMT and am so busy with my workload at this point that I cannot make the time for the CMT prep, which I would like to do, at this point.
