Don't Miss the Date

Today marks the one week mark. What is that? It means there is only one week left to get signed up for the Credentials Study Course and still get the 25% discount. Several have taken advantage of this already and I believe we are going to have a great group. I hope you will be in that group as well. March 25 is the deadline for the discounted price. Sign up now and save 25%. In addition, those who have signed up by March 25 will be entered into a drawing for a free copy of either the RMT Study Guide or the CMT Study Guide (we have one of each to give away).

It’s been a busy week here. As I write this for tomorrow’s publication, it is the evening of St. Patrick’s Day. I hope you all had a good time with your celebrations. We had a bit of a tradition around our house with corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes, all courtesy of my brother’s cooking.

This weekend, I am going to be working on this site a bit. One of the things I have decided to do is remove the forum. When I look at it, we really aren’t using it much and we do have a forum on the Facebook page for MT Tools Online so we’ll do discussions there. If you haven’t signed up as a fan there, please be sure you do that. There are also a few good MT forums out there on the net that I’m sure some of you are using.

If you didn’t get to attend the AHDI town hall meeting this week, it was very interesting and had some good information. Part of the discussion centered around how credentials may very well become more important with all of the new regulations, legislation, and the move to the electronic record. That makes this a good time for our course! I was, sadly, not surprised at the study Susan Lucci quoted that talked about how few people are really aware of the new rules related to HIPAA and the HITECH Act. It has such a huge impact on our industry and it’s one I hate to hear people ignoring. If you haven’t had a chance to visit the HIPAA4MT website yet, be sure you check it out as well!

Most important, I wanted to take a minute today to thank each of you for being a part of this community. I wanted to do something that would add value for the working MT, and I believe we are on the way to doing that. Each of you makes a difference just by being here, by reading, and by adding your comments. Thank you for the time you invest in doing that.

Have a great rest of the week, the weekend is almost here!
