Medical Transcriptionist Week: Grand Prize Winner
The drawing was just held for our grand prize drawing from our Medical Transcriptionist Week celebrations. I had a great time with all we did and wanted to take a minute first to thank all of our sponsors, who were generous in their donations of prizes. They are:
- Stedman’s Publisher
- Transcription Gear
- Interfix
- MT Tools Online and HIPAA4MT
We sure could not have done all we did without this group who generously donated things for prizes. My thanks to each of you for participating with us!
And now, for our grand prize winner. This person will receive a one-year subscription for the Benchmark KB (Knowledge Base). This is a really awesome reference resource.
And The Winner Is….
SHERRY EVANS!!!!
Congratulations, Sherry. I will be sending you information on how to get signed up.
Have a great day!

Congratulations Sherry. What a wonderful prize.

I can’t believe this ’cause I never win anything! Thanks so much, Kathy….I have no idea how I won, but I’m glad I did. Now I know there’s an annual renewal if I read the information correctly, so if I fall in love with it, I’m gonna have to find a way to afford renewing it annually. And Kathy M, since you are familiar with it, would you mind sharing your email addy with me in case I think I need to get advice on how to do things with it? (And of course I’ll ask our “Professor Kathy” also!) I’m getting anxious now! I just can’t believe I won this!

Thanks, everybody…..I think I’m gonna have laryngitis from saying “thank you, thank you, thank you!” I can’t wait ’til I heard from the Benchmark KB people so I can start using this great tool–the way you guys talk about it that have it, I’m just getting more and more excited by the minute!
Thanks again, Kathy, to you or your husband, or whoever it was that drew my name!

I never do the drawings, so will pass your thanks on to Henderson as he’s my prize drawer!
I did get an email from the KB folks saying they have emailed information to you so you should soon be set to go! Enjoy it and come back and tell us about it!

Congratulations, Sherry! No thanks needed. I have Benchmark KB on my wish list.

I got the emailed instructions, and my first question is this: I don’t have Internet Explorer 7 or 8, and my husband doesn’t want either of those on this computer (his Dell desktop that I’m using)….so how many of you that use this software have Firefox and do you use it RATHER than Internet Explorer then virtually all the time? I actually had it installed on my old laptop, but I never used it, so I don’t even know why I did that. I’m just wondering if “in everyday life” you even notice a difference in how you use Firefox versus one of the Internet Explorer versions?

I am using Firefox for almost everything these days. I hadn’t ever used the KB there, but I did just open it and everything displays just fine in it. Hopefully someone else can speak to using it on a daily basis with the KB.

You are going to love Benchmark KB, Sherry. It is like having ALL of the Stedman’s books at your fingertips + more resources. If you get hooked,(and you will), it is worth the added expense!

Cindy, you know…At one point I worked for a company that got all the employees and contractors a huge discount on Stedman’s word books. The only problem is that all of my books are now about 4 years out of date, so if this really replaces my book reference library and I don’t have to buy replacement/updates, then it will probably be worth it. I see by the description, too, that it includes the annual associate membership to AHDI, so that’s cool, too.
The reason I mentioned FireFox earlier is that Benchmark KB says that it only works with IE 7 or 8 or Mozilla FireFox web browsers. I just installed FireFox, so I’m gonna get the rest of this done, even though it is already 1:35 a.m. and the alarm clock goes off at 6:00! LOL
Sweet dreams, all.

Omigosh! I just got my Benchmark KB all installed and I already love it! Thank you again, Kathy! This is not only going to be beneficial to me as an MT to have Benchmark KB, but it is also gonna be downright fun just having Mozilla FireFox on my computer (which I wouldn’t have if it weren’t for the fact that Benchmark KB says it works only with IE 7, 8, or Mozilla FireFox…and my husband hates IE 7 and 8!)!
