MT Tools Online Announces Membership Option
You asked for it, and it’s here. Starting today, MT Tools Online now offers a membership option for those who wish to take part. Read on for how this will work!
Continuing Education Quizzes!
For those who invest in this option, you will receive at least five continuing education quizzes throughout the year. These will be designed to meet the Level 2 criteria established by AHDI for CMT recertification. Value: If you attended a one-hour webinar at $25, this would result in a savings of $125!
Live Webinars!
Beginning in September 2010, we will be offering live webinars. These will be credit-worthy presentations as well. Members will receive a 20% discount on these webinars, and over a year, that will result in a savings of $60.
Some Frequently Asked Questions
If I don’t select the membership option, can I still register for the webinars?
Absolutely. The live webinars will be available to anyone and will be announced here. The members will receive a savings on these and nonmembers will still be able to register at the regular price.
Does this mean only members will be able to access blog posts and discussions?
Absolutely not! This blog has always been free and a place where the MT community we are building can openly exchange ideas. The value in that will not be lost with this addition to the site.
What Kind of Topics Will The Educational Offerings Cover?
We will follow the blueprint for continuing education requirements from AHDI. Sessions will be planned with input from surveys. Future plans are already underway to begin to offer some technology workshops as well as medicolegal topics.
Any Other Benefits for me?
In today’s world, continuing education is critically important for us. This allows you to be sure you can access that and get what you need. It also gives YOU input into what is offered as we love to hear new ideas. There is no other other membership required to take advantage of the programs here under the membership discount. Last, be a part of a great community!
Okay, so what’s the investment?
The investment will be $75 after the AHDI meeting. As a special for next week in honor of the AHDI meeting, you can sign up for this for $50, which saves you another 33%! Take advantage of this offer before Sunday, August 8, to claim your savings! I look forward to many of you joining us here! To join, simply click on the “Add to Cart” button below and it will take you to the payment processing site.

I hope a lot of people take advantage of this. Even in view of the savings, I cannot afford it right now. (It’s going to take me quite a while to pay off my new computer that was purchased for work, in addition to my little “savings cup” that I’m working on filling up to be able to afford renewing my Benchmark KB when this first year expires.) I think it’s a great idea, though. If it happens that (when I am finally ready and take the CMT exam and hopefully pass it on the first attempt) my line rate DOES go up, perhaps I’ll be able to see resolution of my debts a bit sooner and can then invest in this program to help meet my continuing education requirements. In the meantime, I think this is a great opportunity for not only CMTs to help meet those continuing education requirements but for everyone to just help them with furthering their education, even if they aren’t required to. WTG, Kathy!
Thanks, Sherry. Even if you don’t go the route of membership on the site, you can still benefit from the educational offerings that will start in September by registering for them. This is just a way to hopefully save some folks a little money and still get what they need. I structured it based on the survey we did awhile back.
Hi, Kathy: This is excellent! It is so excellent, that I am going to make our department aware of this CEC potential. As you may or may not know, all of the medical transcriptionists here at Kaiser Permanente are CMTs (a requirement within the last year)!!
Thank you, and I wanted to say, this is a great entrepreneurial idea! Way to go.
See you in Austin.

Thanks so much, Nora. I didn’t know that Kaiser had gone that way! I will look forward to seeing you next week!
