You guys always come through with some great ideas! Let’s get our holiday celebrations going here. Here are some interesting links for you, as well as the outline of our holiday fun for MT Tools!

MT Desk Advent Calendar

You may have seen this last year. The MT Desk Advent Calendar is back for 2010 and better than ever! Packed with holiday fun, music and recipes, you don’t want to miss this MT tradition. Be sure to stop by and see what’s new each day!

Guest Post Contest

This month, we will have a guest post contest. Because we’re celebrating the 25 days of Christmas starting tomorrow, our topic for all guest posts will be your favorite holiday tradition. Here’s what you need to know to participate:

  • Write a guest post about your favorite holiday tradition. In order to be eligible to submit a post, you must have signed up for the MT Tools Online mailing list.
  • Posts should be between 200-300 words (you can use your word counter in Word).
  • Email your entries to me no later than Tuesday, December 7. Yes, that is one week from today!
  • Entries will be posted throughout the weeks of December 13 and 20 and will be posted without the author’s name.
  • When all entries have been posted,  we will have a vote the readers will select the winner.
  • The winner will receive a one-year subscription to the Benchmark KB product.

So put your thinking caps on, get creative, and let’s see some great entries!

Christmas Trivia Contest

Each post in the 25 Days of Christmas series will have a Christmas trivia question. Answer it correctly, and you are entered in the drawing! The more times you play, the more entries you receive. You’re on your honor to post your answer before you read the comments to see other’s answers! Enter many times and increase your chances at winning.

Second, on a suggestion from Linda, we’re going to create a “holiday gift basket.” You can add to the basket by using the “donate” button on the sidebar here. This prize will be drawn for from the comments on the trivia contest. We’ll do this drawing on December 13 so the winner has it in time for Christmas! I’ll be sure to post periodic updates about what’s there so you can see the prize grow! So hit that donate button and let’s have some fun! Nothing is too small or too big! When you hit the donate button, you will see it starts at $5.00. Feel free to edit that to whatever you’d like to add!

The winner for the Benchmark KB will be drawn the week after Christmas and selected randomly from all eligible entries. Get ready to put your thinking caps on and test how much you know about Christmas!

Happy Independence Day!

Last but certainly not least, today is Independence Day in Barbados. We have some MTs from Barbados who read and here’s wishing them a wonderful Independence Day. How well I remember the island all lit up in blue and gold. I hope your celebrations are done with pride and safety. Enjoy the day!

Are you ready? Here’s a quick question to get your thinking started: There are many ways to say “Merry Christmas” around the world, here are two of them. “Pozdrevlyayu s prazdnikom Rozhdestva i s Novim Godom”, and “Nollaig Shona Dhui”. If you heard these, where would you be?
