Medical Transcription: Weekend Reading
I’m always glad when the weekend arrives. It gives a bit of time for relaxing and a chance to start the new week refreshed. Here are a few things I’ve seen across the blogosphere this week that I thought you’d find interesting. Grab your coffee and take a break!
Physicians Finding a “New Normal”
This article about the “new normal” was an interesting one for me. Take a minute and read it. It won’t surprise too many that docs are finding the work they are being required to do in the EHR systems isn’t as efficient as everyone hoped. I found it interesting that they are now talking about how their productivity expectations aren’t being adjusted with the technology, much akin to what medical transcriptionists have experienced for many years.
Are You Really Awake?
We’ve all had those times. We’re awake, but we feel like we’re half asleep. Turns out research is now showing that indeed a part of your brain might be sleeping. An interesting read!
The ONC Asks for Feedback About The HIT Strategic Plan
Last week I gave you a link to comment on the standards for meaningful use. There is also a blog asking for comments about the general health IT strategic plan. It’s a great place for MTs to be heard. Many of you submitted comments in the first link, you might also want to consider this one!
Learning to Dance in the Rain
One of my favorite quotes is by Vivian Greene and says simply this: “Life’s not about waiting for the storms to pass….It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” The power of gratitude is something we’ve talked about here before. This week, this video came across my email and I hope you’ll take the time to watch it. It’s only a little over 2 minutes and well worth your time. Learning to Dance in the Rain.
That’s it for me. I hope your weekend is wonderful! How about you? What things have you found interesting across the internet this week?
