Today I want to simply put some ideas out there for you to consider, a great weekend exercise! I’m struck lately by how much we discuss things about our industry and how little we often take real action. I believe it’s easy to get stuck in the “paralysis by analysis” and we sure seem to have that one perfected.
So for today, let’s chat about this. I’m posing questions along with a quote from Seth Godin’s book Poke The Box. What if….
We actually took charge of our future? “We’ve been taught to shut up and keep our heads down.”
We stopped asking permission to define new roles for ourselves? “Reject the tyranny of picked. Pick yourself.”
We stood up more for ourselves as a group who does indeed participate in “clinical” documentation? “Please stop waiting for a map. We reward those who draw maps, not those who follow them.”
We defined and created new roles for ourselves that have relevance for the future? “Today not starting is far, far worse, than being wrong. If you start, you’ve got a shot at evolving and adjusting to turn your wrong into a right. But if you don’t start, you never get a chance.”
We stopped being afraid of the future and embraced it? “When in doubt…Look for the fear. That’s almost always the source of your doubt.”
We adopted the word “bold” as our way of doing things? “Just hanging out has nothing to do with boldly going where no one has gone.”
These ideas are just a taste of the kind of things we’ll chat about on the webinar I’m doing next week. It’s completely free and I hope to see you there!
Starting Projects, Making a Ruckus, and Taking More Risks.
What if, indeed! I look forward to your thoughts!
