Three Words Update
We’re almost two weeks into the new year. Are you working with your three words for the year? I always enjoy hearing what others are doing with their three words as we share our journeys together.
For me, the last two weeks has really been a good focus on all three of my words–opportunity, health, and create.
In the area of health, I’m making a concerted effort to eat better, get away from the computer more, and not be so tied down to being sedentary. I’m blessed that my husband supports the idea of eating better. Because of his Rastafarian background, he would often be happy eating vegetarian. We haven’t quite done that, but we are sure paying closer attention to how we cook things and what we eat. He loves to fix fish so that’s been a bigger add to our meal plans.
Opportunity has been a fun one this month as well. The Coding for Healthcare Professionals course is going quite well and we are adding new students every month. This month was the kick off of our revised program, one that includes an anatomy and physiology course as well as a course in reimbursement methodologies. Those changes were brought about by new requirements from AHIMA for taking their credentialing exams starting this year. I love working with this group. They are excited and motivated and it’s great to be able to be a part of their goals to learn new skills that will help them continue to be relevant in the healthcare industry.
Also in the area of opportunity, I started a new venture. This one kind of ties in to two of my words–both opportunity and create. I have become an “artist” for a company called South Hill Designs. As you know from my writing here, I love how our lives are stories, ones that we choose to create and can write ourselves. In this venture, you get to tell your story in a locket. My kit arrived last week and I’ve been having some real fun creating new lockets that tell a story. If you’d like to see some, I did a Squidoo lens, Lockets That Tell a Story, about it and there is also a link at the top of the page to my SHD page. In some ways, this venture even covers health because it is getting me away from the computer and out of the house. I’m having a lot of fun with it.
How about you? How have you spent your first two weeks in the new year? I look forward to hearing from you!
