Today I have some exciting news to share with you. In the last week, I’ve been working with the staff at AHDI to create a series of webinars for medical transcriptionists on topics that are relevant to our profession and industry today. I’m pretty excited about it and what it can bring for all of you as well so wanted to share it here since the announcements are going out today about the series.

First, I’m pretty sure some of you will have a question, so let me just get that out of the way. I can hear a few of you sitting behind that computer saying “But why through AHDI?” It’s absolutely true these could have simply been done here through either MT Tools Online or the MT Inner Circle so it’s a fair question from the community. And here’s my answer. As you all know, I’ve been a member of AHDI now for over 20 years. I am also passionate about a couple of things–our profession and education. I believe providing quality educational programs for the MT community is something that AHDI can do to help us all navigate these waves of change we face today. And I believe I have some talent there to help make that happen. I’ve often shared with you that my life today is about doing things that make a difference for others. As I looked at this, thought about the idea, and realized that perhaps helping with a venture like this would help in several areas, I really felt it was a good investment of my time and experience. I’m also a believer in giving back where I can, which is where AHDI comes in. So in the end, we all win: MTs get some great education opportunities, AHDI gets a new program (and yes a little bit of revenue), and I get the satisfaction of feeling like I’ve done something that matters. It’s really that simple. Now, on to the good stuff!
