Through the EHR Training Academy, we have developed special pricing for medical transcriptionists who are interested in preparing for emerging roles related to the electronic health record. In order to receive this pricing, you must sign up here and not on the EHR Training Academy site. Please review the options and courses, make your selection and then register below. Programs are offered in both a paid in full option, which gives you a 10% discount, and a payment plan. If you register with a payment plan, the course will take longer to complete, however, it will allow a more affordable option and allow you to take the time to do the program while working.

Hi Kathy, Please tell me more about each of these roles. Which should I take if I would like to be part of making the templates and implementing them into service? They all sound exciting, but I am not sure which one I should go with? Can you give me more details about what each involves and the job outlook for each one? Tnx! Cindee

Each of the 6 ONC-created roles are outlined on the EHR Training Academy site here: http://ehrtrainingacademy.com/hit-training-programs/. If you click on the link for each role, it’s detailed more what is involved. In addition, there is a “job outlook” page on that site. The CDP course that we created is specifically for MTs who have the knowledge that we have and want to get into the EHR world. It will give you an indepth knowledge of the EHR so that you could compete for those roles. If it were me, that’s the one I’d consider. Let me know if you have other questions!

I’m not really positive if I am submitting this in the right location, but I am preparing to transfer to the U . S . and am attempting to secure jobs in the information technology industry. I have a job lead with a business (LTJ Management, LLC, 900 Congress Ave, Suite L-150, Austin, TX 78701 (512) 895-9500) and sought some views on the best way to investigate them to discover if they might be a good business to work for. I’ve searched on their web page, but thought somebody here might have a few other tips on where to look. Thank very much.

What are the requirements for RHIT versus RHIA?
Any places online to pursue these?
What is the quickest time for completion?

Camille, I believe the best place to find that information is the AHIMA website. You can then compare the two credentials as well as the education requirements for both. They will also have a list of their approved programs, many of those are in colleges and universities. Then I’d find what’s close for me and see if they have their program online. At least you should be able to do a portion of it online.

I really have no idea what I need to take, but I know that I need the training on EHR to incorporate myself into this new field. I am looking for an introduction to the EHR itself. Thanks for your information and keeping us aware of what is happening.
